Holmen is situated in the remote part of the Lofoten Islands – the Moskenes Island.
This is the wildest and most beautiful part of the Lofoten Islands. Just outside you will find the renowned Moskstraumen – the most powerful maelstrom in the world. This area is the gateway for cod and other fish coming to Lofoten to spawn.

This part of the ocean is not for weaklings, as it is wild and uncontrollable, it is generous, beautiful and mystical at the same time. 

We welcome fishing fans to this land of adventure, for a unique maelstrom cup. In the period from March througout September, there will be four competitions. You alsto have the opportunity to attend other trips and adventures you will never forget. 

’Holmen’ in Norwegian means ’an islet’ , which is exactly what this place is – it is naturally protected from noise and stress with a unique locality right in the centre of a vivid fishing society.  Here you can experience the real Lofoten, and take part in the true coastal culture.
