Whilst working at the Eagle in Farringdon, Margot met her husband to be and fellow chef Fergus Henderson, and together they went on to open the dining room at the iconic French House in Soho. She went on to run the French House together with her partner Melanie for several years before her catering business took priority, initially being ran from Margot’s small kitchen in her Covent Garden flat, which led to the opening of Rochelle Canteen in 2006.
In 2020 Margot was awarded an OBE for services to the culinary arts for her work as a chef and restaurateur as one half of much-loved Rochelle Canteen.
