Gunnar has been featured as a guest blacksmith at the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum, where
his work at the historic smithy channels centuries-old techniques and local craft heritage.
Drawing on deep experience in knife and axe forging, he creates laminated blades and other forged objects
that reflect both functional design and the rugged spirit of northern Norway.
His presence in the smithy is a sensory experience. The ring of hammer on anvil, the heat from the
forge and the mindful rhythm of shaping metal, inviting visitors to connect with the elemental craft
that once served the daily life of fishing communities.
At Holmen Lofoten, Gunnar will share his passion for forging, demonstrating traditional techniques
and guiding participants as they explore metalwork inspired by the cultural and natural heritage of
Lofoten.
